Chance and I just re-decorated our living room for the 50th time, BUT this time we actually bought new stuff instead of just moving furniture around. We usually meet with clients at our house so it has become really important to us that we appear to have some sort of style. And we do. We have mad style, but Chance and I are fairly different when it comes to decorating. He likes modern design. He loves those SUPER clean lines and funky fixtures. And I think that’s cool, but it’s not my first choice. My first choice is something more warm. I really enjoy antique furniture and simple knick knacks. Key word is simple; I don’t like clutter. I guess I would describe my style as 'simple vintage chic.' I don’t even know if that’s a style but you get the Ikea...oops, I mean, idea.
After a day trip to Ikea, 4 hours in assembling furniture and hanging shelving and paintings, we finally had a new living room. We’re both really happy the way it came out. I was a little worried at first because we were trying to mesh two styles into one, but I think it worked for us. What do you think?
***Side note- we spent a little under $300 dollars decorating this room and it completely changed the space. If you’re on a budget like I was; there’s hope! Go to Ikea, and if you can’t do that don’t forget about craigslist and thrift stores. You will find treasures for low prices.***

laurel hutton-
That overhead hanging lamp over the couches is GORGEOUS. I think it looks great! Very put together and professional while still being warm and inviting!
I LOVE it!! Can't wait to come see it in person. I think both of your styles are apparent and it blends perfectly! :)
thanks guys!
I think it looks fantastic! I love where you put your new couch too! You will have to come and help a sista out - just wait a bit until I have a budget! ;) Love you.
