2009 are you outta your mind?

I can't believe it's almost 2009. Weird. I'm afraid that the next ten years of my life are going to fly by just as fast as the last ten. Please Jesus...let it go slow...I don't want to be 33 yet...someday, but not like really fast. I don't want to say it went by fast. I want to be able to soak life in. I want to live long and feel like I lived long. You can't feel like you've lived long if you say "whoa, I'm 95? That flew by." I don't want that. I want to be 95 without it flying by.

Since I’ve got that covered, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. Chance and I agreed to not do big gifts this year, but he was a sneaky husband and still got me a great gift. He gave me this...

A Pink Ipod.

I almost peed a little when he gave it to me. I named my Ipod Irene. Irene the Ipod. Cuz I like Irene's restaurant in tower. Irene matches my laptop, Suz. The first three songs I bought for my Ipod were, Britney Spears-Circus, Leona Lewis-Bleeding Love, and Katy Perry-Hot and Cold. You know, the songs that any normal 14 year old teenager would download.

Oh, and here are some more pictures of great Christmas gifts...my family. Jenny and Phoenix came over a little while to celebrate with us. We love them. I look like a greasy man in this picture. I'm sorry.

Here's us at a delish place in tower called Rosseau. Go there and eat.

Another great holiday treat was spending time with old friends. Last week some of my closest friends from high school got together for dinner. It was great to see everyone, but the BEST part about that dinner was finding out that MONICA THOMAS was engaged. In fact, she got engaged earlier that day to a great guy named Rhett. None of us really knew that she even had a boyfriend, so you can imagine our reactions. All I know is that anyone that likes Monica is welcome in our group. Congrats Monica and Rhett, love you guys.

Lastly...this past weekend Chance and I went on a last minute trip to Six Flags with Zach and Dorothy. They are such great friends. They paid for our hotel AND drove us down there. It was a bitter-sweet trip because Chance and I were in a fight most of the way up there, but Zach and Dorothy are probably the only couple that makes us feel that it's ok not to be a perfect couple all the time. Things got better and we had fun being with people we love. We had a great time playing the "would you rather" game and ate waxy donuts and too much Starbucks. We were at Six Flags ALL day Sunday(today) and Zach and Dorth only rode two rides and Chance and I only rode one ride. It was SUPER packed and the lines were hours long...so basically it was well worth the 60 bucks we all spent to get in.

Give them Hope

This past weekend Chance took pictures at the "Unseen Show." The Unseen show was put together by our friends Cameron and Alana of Ephraim Clothing. The show was benefiting Faceless Intertaional which is an organization that helps defend exploited people worldwide. I was bummed because i didn't get to go, but Chance said it was a great turn out so i'm happy. To learn about what Faceless International does more specifically, visit there website @ facelessinternational.com. Anyway, my whole point about blogging this is because Chance and I were talking tonight about people in need and how we really feel like we need to be helping people more. After talking about it awhile we came up with an idea...

Chance and I want to have a weekend in February where we do portrait sessions that benefit Facelesss Intertaional. We don't know what weekend yet, but for sure we are going to do it. Our hope is to be able to do this a few times a year, and benefit a different organization each time. Just wanted to share our vision. Be sure to check out Chance's blog regularly (http://chancejamesblog.com) for information invovling this new stuff as well as what else to except from Chance James Photography in 2009. We are going to be holding some awesome specials that you DON'T want to miss!!! seriously, don't miss them because we won't be this nice for very long. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

You've got to be kidding me.

I’m pretty sure I was on candid camera again. No, this time…I’m serious, it was like I thought Chance hired Ashton Kutcher to punk me for Christmas because what I overheard today makes my hair stick up straight and my body shiver.

Today I was @ Revue in Tower. I was just reading, journaling, hanging out on Facebook, you know the usual things someone does when they don’t have a job. It was nice and relaxing until three loud girls came in. Two of them had babies that couldn’t be more than 8 or 9 months old. First of all, they were talking loudly in a coffee shop which is a little annoying, but that’s not what set me off. I tried to not be distracted and kept my concentration on journaling to Jesus. Yea, I journal to Jesus because I’m pretty sure he’s the only one that can stand me at this time in my life. I was trying to be super godly and think jesus-y thoughts towards these girls. It’s hard. But I was doing it, and then I overheard this…

Baby Momma #1 “I can’t stand it when I see moms that have kids and the kids are all dirty and shit. It’s like, clean up your F*^&in’ kid.”

Baby Momma #2 “I know, I feel the same way. It’s gross, like they don’t know how to raise a baby”

Baby Momma # 1 “Hey what do you want to do for New Years? Let’s get F%$#in’ plastered. And go out. I haven’t had any in 10 months.”

Baby Momma #2 “yeah, we’ll drop the kids off with grandma for a few days, I want to have a good New Year”

And this wasn’t a joke. Oh help me Jesus.

Oh and something completely unrelated, but equally important as dumb girls…our friends Cameron and Alana from Ephraim Clothing are hosting “The Unseen Show” at Northpointe church this Friday. It will be benefiting Faceless International which is an AMAZING organization. My friend Marisa has done some recent missions involving the sex trade and they need any and all types of help and donations, so PLEASE PLEASE support the Unseen Show anyway you can.

And don’t forget about the last minute Christmas shopping you need to do. Head over to Ephraim Clothing.com and receive 15% off your entire order when you use the “holiday” code @ checkout! I like Ephraim clothing. I think I like Ephraim more than I like Cameron. I guess I just really like Ephraim, and so should you.

Plus Benefits

So lots has happened the last few months. Chance and I have been dealing with some big changes and I’m convinced that it’s God stretching our character. I’m also convinced that the world is coming to an end. Ok, not really…but that’s kinda been my attitude the last few months as I’m sure you can tell from my previous posts. Of course, the world will be coming to an end someday, so do you know Jesus? Sorry, I thought that was a good time to stick that in there. So think about it, or don’t.

Anyway, I’m hoping the new year will be good to us. But there’s a couple things that have been holding me back lately, like the fact that I don’t have a job, nor can I find one. Weird. I mean, I’ve never had trouble finding a job, EVER. Toot! Toot! Sorry was that the sound of my own horn? Weird. Well it doesn’t really matter that I just tooted my own horn because right now, I can’t find a job that’s not like Taco Bell or something, no offense Taco Bell. And it’s FRUSTRATING. Like big time. So if anyone knows of anything, lemme know. Or if you just want to pay me like 200 a week plus benefits that would work as well. In fact, let’s go with that…who wants to pay me 500 a week? Just email me and we’ll work something out. Or even 300 a week. That would work. Whatever you can afford is fine. Plus benefits, don’t even try to give me money if you can’t give me benefits. Ok, just benefits are good, with a little cash on the side. Probably like 250 a week would work. Probably. Let me know so I can get my 600 a week from you asap.

The up side of this holiday season (if that even makes sense) is that it’s Christmas time! I love Christmas for all the wrong reasons probably. I’m okay admitting that. I know I love Jesus. But there is just something about Christmas time that is so fun because you get to hang out with old friends and catch up with people and walk down Christmas Tree Lane and eat lots of fatty foods and no one judges you. They only judge you if it’s not Christmas time, usually. I don’t judge people during Christmas. Only Thanksgiving, usually. If I haven’t seen you in a long time, let’s hang out this holiday.

What are you guys looking forward to this holiday or new year?

Angry

I don't know what happened to me. I'm so angry these days. I don't know if I'm more angry or sad. I can't really put my finger on it. I think that's part of the problem. It’s not one thing, or person; it’s everything. And I don’t know where to take my hurt. I don’t know how to make it better. There are so many things I keep reminding myself to be thankful for, but it’s not really working. I keep asking God to give me peace or relief or frickin’ something and I feel so lost. I’m trying to be positive in a season of uncertainty, hurt and change.

I’m not writing this blog for people to feel sorry for me, or for friends to start calling me acting concerned, but it makes me feel better to turn to my blog. There is something to be said about writing and getting it out, even if it’s on a silly blog.

Baby, in this time you and Jesus are what keep me going. I love you.
